You're right, people aren't popping their eyes out and doing really exaggerated expressions, or lying on the floor doing the pornstar freeze, or wearing all red, or all yellow, but that doesn't mean there is no attitude. It's more subtle now, but it's impossible to break for a long time without putting your own attitude in there.
I think the worst thing to happen is the fucking Zulu Nation, they're the ones bringing it back down. They're bringing back a style that you either go with and rock because you're told to, or you don't and you're looked down on. I'm looked down on, because I don't say "word" and "fresh" every second I get, because I feel obliged to, because I think that's what makes a b-boy when I know it doesn't. I don't feel that way, and I'm by no means disrespecting the old school, but I feel like we've already done that, and it's time to move on to what we like. We've learned a lot and grown from the old school, why do we have to go backwards?
A b-boy is someone who expresses them self, not what Alien Ness tells them to do, and not what's going to please the judges. I think you should be allowed to wear anything, use any vocabulary, listen to what makes you want to dance, no-matter WHAT the genre is, and express YOURSELF, dance the way you feel, not like a little carbon copy because you think it makes you "real." If you do that, you're faker than you ever have been.
Expression and attitude aren't dead, and if it is, it's because Zulu Nation killed it by confusing everyone and brainwashing the n00bs. I'm going to make a lot of enemies probably by clicking Post Quick Reply, but fuck it, this is how I feel.

i am gonna mos def correct what your saying bcuz you just ''LIT BOMB" you have a very big miss understanding "ZULU NATION" is the birth of hiphop period if there wuz no zulu there would not be
any scene or b-boys you gotta understand what you just spoke on "BAM" called it hiphop if you dont
respect the foundation then i dont know why your even dancing..far as looking back goes in this
day and time you can do what you want. uneducated in the dance that's on who ever just bcuz
skinny jeans "are in" people wanna wear make up & call them self hiphop does that mean everybody
has to buy pair size 28 waist jeans with "vans" shoes and scarf around my neck to be called the new
style? i respect all that come & go i seen all the ''TRENDS" come & go bcuz that's what is is just like
youtube is trend from "HELMETS" to dancing with no shoes to everybody dressing up like it's making
of thriller michael jackson video to "remind" the list goes on etc. etc. i want have to blast you on here
bcuz that's not my job to tell you to do what you want i think you should follow all the trends out there
then you come back 17 years later saying damn i wuz young mind it i did alot things i shouldn't done or
said but let time tell you see what i am talking about good job expressing what you feel man i can respect
that but i got one thing to say before i end this. "ZULU NATION" CHANGE the world back in 70's 80's 90's
and the present time "BAM" IS BEYOND legendary status give the man his respect bcuz he gave you chance
to be apart something he created it dont matter what year it is 1973 or year 2040 'ZULU NATION" will go
down as the first & longest hiphop crew of all times period!
