Absolutely not. Protein is for muscle growth not recovery. EAT AND REST.

All those muscle building supplement are for body builders. I took some personally after my mother said not to (shes a personal trainer) and I just bulked up. Girlfriend liked it but it made me real slow which for me was a hassle.

So in short, for recovery no

Go to your local GM and ask them for a muscle recovery supplement not a protein.

Sorry Animal but absolutely yes!. Protein supplements have been used by athletes and dancers of every profession. Gymnasts and olympic athletes etc

Protein is foodsource its not something that will make you grow. Especially Whey protein is excellent for recovery after a workout even better would be hydrolyzed or pepto pro proteins because they have been pre digested so the body immediatly absorbs it.

A little more expensive but great for inhibiting muscle breakdown so you can prolong your training sessions en recover faster are amino acids namely EAAS en BCAA's . Growth is a matter of caloric intake so aslong as you dont eat the calories you need to grow you wont.

Also Protein supplements are made by seperating protein in the process of making cheese. It's al natural and not dangerous at all. see below how its made

Whey protein is a co-product of the cheese making process. Listed below is a brief description of the steps involved in making pure whey protein isolate.
Fresh milk is tested, approved by Quality Assurance experts and pasteurized.
The casein, or "curd", and a portion of the milk-fat are separated out to make cheese.
The remaining liquid whey goes through a series of fine, specialty filters to separate the whey protein from the lactose and other ingredients in the liquid whey.
Concentrated liquid whey enters an ion exchange tower to further concentrate and purify the whey protein. Ion exchange is a gentle process and does not denature, or "break down", the whey protein.
Next, the product enters a drying tower to remove water.
The final step is to package the pure whey protein isolate powder into various size containers for use.

Because it takes around 2 tot 2.5 hours for your body to digest the whey protein its actually better to take right before your training session so the amino acid levels in your blood are high by the time you need to recover from your workout.

So the best thing for you would be a good whey protein ( i usually buy a mix of whey isolate and concentrate mostly becasue they taste better) and an amino acid supplement. Ofcourse you can also get enough protein by eating a lot of fish and leanchickenbreast filets(i just dont feel like cooking and eating all the time but if you can eat this multiple times a day you wont even need supplements).

Hope this helps

Best of luck

If you have any questions you can email me mischageertsentsunami@hotmail.com

I did a lot of research on nutrition and excersize sinds i injured my shoulders elbow and wrists. I havent been able to practise powermoves for a while and thats why i started lifting weights.

I live in holland so we have different brands available here so i can recommend the types of supplements but not all the brandnames.

Also buying online is alot cheaper then at GNC and similar stores.

Also if you decide to do weight training to improve your powermove practise dont forget to keep stretching (especially your shoulders) because you might loose agility otherwise

excuse any spelling mistakes

The whole bulking up isn't just through the consumption of protein, you need to eat quite a bit alot of those bodybuilders eat at least 3500 calories a day during their bulking stages. Your protein consumption during a day should be in theory 1 gram for every pound you weigh. (ie. 155 g/day in my case). Like tsunami said whey protein is just a by product of cheese and casein protein is a by product of milk.

Yes protein is good if u don’t eat carbs but if u have solely protein your body won’t obtain all the food eating it needs so balance it a bit - but sure it will strip fat if u just have protein.

Proper nutrition is essential to help athletes recover from workouts and competitions.
It is widely accepted that carbohydrates are a critical fuel source during exercise and also play a major role in promoting recovery after exercise. However, the importance of protein is less understood.

There is no doubt that protein ingestion helps athletes recover from exercise, but questions remain regarding the optimal amount, type and timing of protein needed in order to optimize training-induced adaptations in skeletal muscle.

The ones u saw is a local made protein supplements r quite expensive. What u r having right now is for medical dietary supplement? Not for body building and fitness. Most protein powders r imported and have passed the medical association testing. They r made in advanced research and labs.Specially for body builders and sports person! A 2lbscan of whey protein (ultimate nutrition) will cost u 1900-2200rs.there r other also which r more expensive.....protein can be achieved by Ur daily meals too.eat lot of dairy prducts, chicken and fish is good. lintels and other stuff.....milk and curd is also good.eat balanced and stay fit.
