Working out your neck is not really the problem you need to be focused on. I've put up a thread about using a foam roller for calf heart attacks the same foam roller can help you relieve stress in your neck, and using a resistance tube medium to heavy resistance, doing internal/external rotations can help you strengthen your rotator cuff, also doing the serratus punch to strengthen the neck muscles these you can do daily to help out neck muscles and those associated with that area!
