that is not true at all, with running more than 20 minutes you start loosing muscle mass, that could be counterproductive on what you want, it depends on your own body. If you do interval training or fartleik, you work cardio without loosing muscle mass. Anyway, it depends on the person, I dont do any type of running/jogging cardio exercises unless breakin for about 4 years and still could run for about 40/50 minutes.

homeopt, don't bash on people who don't run on the treadmills like girls do dog. I bet the reason you run is cause you too weak to push weight.
If you knew anything about body building then you would know that these guys prefer to keep the cardio esp. running to a minimum. People got different goals.
You can run on that treadmill all you want.. i'd rather get my cardio playing a sport. biiaaa

Yo Homopt, its clear by this statement that you do not know about fitness or have you just have very limited/generic knowledge (which based on the posts i see you put up all over this forum, seems to be your running trend). Pull up variations are HUGELY beneficial to both strength and endurance AKA stamina. Just because you dont run does not mean your not fit. Using body weight exercises is one of the most healthy ways to train both physical strength and muscle stamina. I dont know if your racist or what, but if you can see past that and just look at the pure power and strength these guys have you would show a little more respect. Go ahead and try half of what they do at your private gym that mom and pops pay for. Besides, if you think running = fitness, try HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) exercises... Most peeps that can run 10 miles cant survive 15 min of HIIT, so does that mean they are not fit?
For the rest of the peeps that actually want to get strong and learn about fitness here are a couple of forums:
www.bodyweightculture.com
www.animalstrength.com
Peace to everyone that's actually putting in the work and not judging those that do.

Actually for all the bashing of each other that's gone on in this post, almost everybody has a point.
For one, cardio does equal fitness. Keepin your heart rate high for anything less than 20 continuous minutes doesn't truly build cardiac strength, endurance, or efficiency.
Two, cardio alone does not accomplish full body fitness. It does however make strength and endurance training easier. It is important regardless of your goals to maintain a solid level of cardio fitness as well as specific muscle strength and endurance training.
Third, it is a myth that cardio over 20 minutes decreases muscle mass.
Fourth, muscle endurance is stamina only for the muscles directly involved in the exercise. True stamina is achieved through cardio.
Lastly, you can develop specified stamina through repetition of anything. Breaking for four hours will develop stamina for breaking. While it may not improve thefunction of your heart, it will improve your breaking, especially from a neurological standpoint. The more you do something, the quicker your nerves fire and the more nerves your body recruits the next time you do the same thig I.e. Muscle memory.
All in all the workout in the video is great and makes great points, but in order to truly be physically fit and healthy, you should not only work on your specific area of focus, but also incorporate 20+ minutes of continuous aerobic exercise into your workouts at least 2-3 times a week.
