While at Evolution, we had the opportunity to interview Born, and do a segment about his long-running hip hop dance school in Seoul, Korea. I've taken his classes before, and he is an excellent teacher. Not only does he have a good system of teaching the dance, he arguably one of the best in Korea in terms of historical knowledge; always doing his research. You'll learn a bit of everything. Strife.tv definitely recommends hitting up Rivers Studio whenever visiting Korea! Below is the transcript from his interview.

Hey everyone, what's up. I'm here with Born and he's going to tell us a little bit about his Hip Hop (dance) School. Hey Born, how are you doing? Born: Hey, I'm good. I'm chillin'
Can you tell me a little about your school? What is it about, and what do you teach? Born: First of all, I teach Bboys how to dance…so dancing!
What are your methods for teaching dance? Born: First, I really focus on the basics...and how to apply the basics to make them into one’s foundation. I also teach the students how to develop an attitude so that they can dance wherever there is music and to be able to battle.
What do you stress when you teach? Born: I think foundation is important because, not just for bboying or any dance in general, but for everything in life, I believe that basics and foundation are the most important. We are limited by the level of our basics/foundation. That is, without basics, you can’t take the next step. You have to understand the basics to have your own future, which is why I think foundation is so important
Why should I go to your school? What can I get from it? What can people get from it when they take your classes? Born: First of all confidence. Like I said before, we make you able to dance anywhere naturally as they learn the basics. Also you get to learn about unity. It’s not just like each student individually showing up, but moreso grouping together like family or in a crew-like environment.
During your training, and when people train, sometimes they hit a point where their creativity runs out and need motivation. What do you do when you find yourself unmotivated and not even wanting to dance? Born: I would tell them to try other things. If you’re in a slump, you can try new things, things that aren’t dancing or hip hop, to get new ideas. When I get stuck, I don’t dance at all. I read or watch movies. I don't even chill with my crew. I look to those people who don't live hip hop because I think you can get new ideas from friends who don’t dance, so I would advise those people to try that.
How did you get your name, "Born"? Born: A really close friend/older brother figure told me during the hard times that “you are a ‘natural born dancer’ because you are so crazy and obsessed with dancing and look like you danced your whole life.” But when I joined Rivers crew, Bangroc suggested that my nickname was too long and that it would sound more dope to be “Born” That’s how I got my name.
