I thought of this idea of making a blog website, where you can find all the bboy documentaries there are.
I mean it's easy to find some on the net.. but really to find the good ones its a bit hard, and especially if you don't know the names of the movies or the persons involved.
So let me know here all the documentaries you know, and I will post them up on my blog, and I'll publish the link here once I get enough in it. I'll try to fill the posts with some tags and stuff so it's easy to find them then!
So post youtube links of documentaries that are:
-at least 2 minutes long
-Have some kind of a story!
-Is NOT only a trailer of a bboy or an event (a clip promoting this person/event)
-Should be watchable
-Should be in english or have subtitles into english
And just go a head and post them here, I'll try and put everything up I can find! And with some descriptions of course.
Also, the defenition between an interview and a documentary might be a little bit hard to find sometimes, but don't worry, lets see what it is!
Thanks in advance to anyone posting! I'm making this coz I love documentaries and finding out about bboys and history! Also if anyone has any ideas in making a header image for the site, go a head and message me!
-Hiski

"We knew about the older dancers and their histories, we spoke about that and we shared that. So we had more of a foundation, see foundation isn't just moves. Foundation is consciousness of the history of the art combined with passing that down./Foundation is the combination of the mental approach, philosophies, the attitude, the rhythm, style and character combined with the move. Foundation is not moves"- Ken Swift
I made this channel back on December 11th. It has bboy and Hip Hop documentaries on it along with interviews and inspirational videos.

Though... Maybe some of you guys could take a look at the channel and check what interviews I should have that I don't. I bet a lot of you know of some gems out there. Seriously though, go to the channel first then come back and suggest some new videos please. I mean, the DJ and MC areas could be a lot bigger, not to mention the B-girl interview area. There are more than enough how to videos and battle videos, but not enough informative/historical videos that are collected together. So do what you can to help contribute please.
Thank you!
Oh yeah, here is the promo video. Just pay attention to the first half, the second half is for the people who follow me on youtube. I don't go on camera often.

Though, I would love to see a blog or something that had all of that, because you could explain to people what the different videos are about.. though, they explain themselves too I guess
but I watched a bunch of videos there too and it was great! I will try and spread it out!

Isn't it sketchy to upload other people's documentaries? Cuz, they invested money into traveling, researching, filming and editing. They have to make that money back by selling their DVD. I'm not sure if this applies to all the documentaries, but it would for the Freshest Kids right? I'm pretty sure they sell DVDs for that. Maybe a better idea would be to go make original content and document history in your own area. That would probably contribute more to the community.
I'm considering taking on some projects but I would want it to be 100% original content.

I'm not the one uploading these documentaries. I only organize them on one channel. In addition, this is channel is more about distributing the information than anything else. Like a public library. If you want the DVD for your own, you can buy it. Otherwise you just watch it on the channel. I watched the documentary Scratch about 10 times before I finally bought it. I intend to buy The Freshest Kids at some point myself, but it doesn't hurt to watch it online. DVDs have bonus features you don't get online, so if you want to know more you get the DVD.
In terms of making a documentary, I don't have the time or the finances at the moment. I'm working on getting my college education, and making that youtube channel is my way of contributing. If you are to make a documentary, then make it 100% original. Go all out! DO IT! Otherwise make a website with all the bboy and Hip-Hop documentaries out there and links where you can buy the DVD. Maybe you can research and find all the documentaries that no one else knows about and bring them into the light? I don't know them all, and that is why I need the support of others to be able to make a proper resource that everyone look to for gathering knowledge. So lets put the beef aside, and get some work done!
Also, The Freshest Kids was made over nine years ago. I'm pretty sure they grossed enough money to cover their expenses and then some.

Make a site with the written history and a channel with the videos.
Now that is a better idea!
