Hip-hop can be whatever you want it to be. That's why it's an art.

JPCwhutwhut.. you're a nutter! Does that mean hip hop can be staying at home and building my own spaceship out of cornflakes packets. Seriously though, hip hop is the 4 elements like kenny says (rapping, scratching, graff and bboying). If people want to make it something else then they can. Hip hop is not an art form. It is a culture. The elements are artforms.

That's commercial Hip Hop dance. It has no relation to the culture, it's pretty much just an exploitation of the culture.

Kenny:
Hip-hop/street dance has been a recognized dance style for quite some time. It may not be the five elements you'd like it to be, but it's certainly got it's roots. Also, Shane Sparks is actually pretty awesome with the choreo, plenty flavor in his dance. He's not going to ruin your sacred 5 elements, so don't worry about it. Hope this is the explanation you were looking for.

What makes it commercial ? Because it's choreographed ? Then what are routines that bboy crews do ? Aren't they choreographed as well ?
