Neguin was really impressive, thought he had the easiest road to the Semi's.

Cloud's style was SICK. Never really got to see too much of him before the comp. He was awesome.

Thesis kinda got robbed. Not completely because if he would've went on during his second set like he did in his first against Lilou, he would've won. His second set was too short. But he'll be back. Kid's musicality is up there, definitely second-to-none for a 17-year-old. I could see him winning one in the future.

Thought some of the bboys were holding back a bit, maybe thinking they were going to advance past where they did and show their stuff in the latter rounds.

Wing was pretty dope, but I'm not surprised he lost to Morris. That was a pretty good battle. He beat Punisher, but he definitely could've done better in that first round.

Differ is a cocky motherfucker. I liked watching him. He really is so different from everyone else, but man, is that guy cocky.

The show itself seemed like it could've gone a lot smoother, but it was still the dopest event I've ever been to and will probably go to for a long time.

Hopefully I'll get to the point where I can go to an event and someone will give me props for a nice little set. Peace, y'all.
he seemed pretty psyched out by Cloud, though. (his inspiration, according to him)

adobostreak, that makes sense. I can see why after looking back on that battle. Didn't Cloud have some judging appearances in Korea in the past?

Yeah, you can definitely see the influence in that cloud had on differ. There were times where i saw differ do something and i thought "looks like something cloud would do."

All in all... Cloud should have won. IMO i think Differ and Neguin were better competition than lilou. Compared to Cloud, Lilou wasn't even dancing. His threads were sloppy at times, he repeated that roll back to airchair freeze 2x, and a lot of what lilou brought to the table wasn't anything new. Cloud had so much creativity with his dance/flow/rhythm and pantomimes that he should've won with that alone.

I guess I'm jaded, but when i watch bboying i'm really psyched to see people who can actually dance, not just do power moves.

lilou did do alot of dancing in the last round, he hit beats on his first run and on his second his last was a power set but it was one i had never seen lilou do so it was new stuff. Cloud won all of his previous rounds easy but in the end he just didnt do enough new stuff he just did the same things he was doing in the previous rounds.

YOu see, just "hitting" the beat ain't enough for me. When i see lilou "dance," it just looks like a means to an end just to get on the ground and do flare after flare to thread to air chair finish, and voila.... That doesn't impress me. There is so much more creativity, nuances, and intricacy in style/character with what cloud does from start to finish that it all blends in. Everything flows from the moment he walks in the circle, dances, transitions going down, and grooves going back up. Other bboys is like they run and walk on beat, abruptly get to the ground, do a pre-practiced set, and end with a trick/blowup/freeze.

Its very rare to see bboys get influenced and taken by the beat the way Abstrak and Cloud do.

To me, Neguin, and Differ came way harder than Lilou.

fair enough thats what you think and i can see where your comming from and the battle was close and it was a 3 to 2 decision, given 5 different judges or even the 5 same judges on a another day it could have bee 3 to 2 for cloud or 5 all for cloud.

In the end breaking is still opinion and personal preference there can never be a perfect decision because you can look at a battle a hundred different ways.

^Dude, when i saw them put up the scores, look at Ronnie's face right when they announce that the person before him raises "lilou"'s card.... Its like, i think that Ronnie just chose Lilou to make it seem like a very unbiased/unfavored choice because he knew FORSURE that cloud was gonna win, and when they announced "lilou" before him, he realized that he fucked up. You could tell that he wanted cloud to win.

Next year, i wanna see Abztrak. But then again, Abztrak is not for everyone, or anyone at that moment cuz it takes a lot of watching and observance to observe the total complexity of what Abztrak is doing. He'll go there, bust out the most incredible set, and everyone would just be silent lol

i think your looking way to much into ronnies decision, but whatever it all good. Abztrak well mabye we will see sadly we can't pick who goes to bc one its the organizers decision and even then just because they say hey you wanna compete at bc one the b-boy can still say no.
