Can we please stop calling footwork and toprock "style"? - Bboy World Com

I think it's been said enough on bboyworld by enough credible heads...Style does not equal toprock and footwork...Still, everyday, Im reading topics here on this site and people continue to call someone that is footwork or toprock heavy a "stylehead" Or "style is just a trend now" or "he doesn't have any power, he's just style head" or "I don't really like doing power, I just focus on style"

You can do a whole round of nothing but tops and footwork, and it can still be lame, with no style...

You can teach someone to do a sixstep, you can't teach them style...

Style is how you dance, how you put it all together, in your own way...

Right?

i tried to post something up about foundation style and all that stuff... but people would rather argue with me than to learn something importantly needed ... this is why i just worry about my self now

if you got no style you got nothing, its actualy ok to call it "style" since its the most important elements of the dance

on the other hand, i'm guessing the argument is that just 'cos you have tops and footwork doesn't necessarily mean you have style.

My point is that too often people say "style" and use it like a synonym for tops and footwork, which can be done with no style at all...

ive never seen anyone without footwork or tops that has a bboy style though, which is the type of style i think we're referring to.
someone can be doing hula hoop or taking a dump and have style
