why do NORMAL people like more powermoves than footworking?
well, ive heard lots of people saying that footworking is easy and powermoves are more beautiful and harder , this goes out to anybody that thinks that way
FUCK YOU!
a guy even asked me why do we, and i quote ''run around before we go to the floor'' (toprocking).
i mean REALLY? its not that i suck toprocking, believe me, i DONT, at least i got foundation clean.
but am sick of morons that say that kinda shit.

well my opinnion. hope u guys comment.
ummm u really think footwork is just as hard as learning a powermove?? lets not front here....it took me almost a month of str8 flare work to get one down clean....about 3 months to do continuous.....
im pretty sure everybody here once thought bboying was a bunch of mills and flares, and were attracted to it because of these things....
don't let the "style is king" idea get into ur head, lots of people nowadays dont try to push themselves cuz they feel that they got nice footwork and can take on anybody....doesnt run with me, try to learn as much as you can with this dance, powermoves and so called "blowups" included....
Normal people are shallow at a point of what they see at 1st that catches their eye. Power moves are easy to digest for them as entertainment. Foundation is confusing to them, because they don't know the kulture, the don't understand terminology of the dance or text of the dance. They rather see stereotypes of everything including this culture. Its what I call the BET/MTV syndrome. Its a disease and by us fighting each other online and worldwide, we cause the disease to grow. Reach one, teach one should be established in our community of Hiphop but to the world at large as well. Some way, some how we got to do this more effectively so people worldwide understand this dance is a legitimate dance not just motherfuckers spinning and flipping around for their amusement.
Normal people? That's what you call people who don't break? hahahaha... so does that mean I'm abnormal? hmmmmm... yeah, I guess I am abnormal. hahahahaha
I think people just don't know shit. They don't know how difficult moves are... I mean 6-step is a basic move, but try teaching someone it... they get their feet mixed up. People think headspins are the hardest move ever... that's because they don't understand what goes into each move and how difficult they are. Headspins take some time to learn, but they aren't the hardest move.
People also don't recognize creative breaking... they don't know all the moves, so when someone does something new, regular people don't know it's new.
Also, it's the media. Think about all the breaking you see on TV, movies, or commercials... it's basically all flips and powermoves... they don't show too many freezes and almost no footwork. So all people know of breaking is what they see on TV and TV only shows powermoves. The media people don't know shit about breaking either.
Personally, I fell in love with footwork... it's so dope to me when someone does some powerful/fast/smooth creative footwork, can hit some beats, show your creativity and emotion in different ways... shit is gangsta!
why are you mad if someone that doesn't know anything about bboying doesn't like footwork- who cares anyway !!
all they ever ask me is if i can do headspin. i can but i never show them
you say powermoves are just as hard as footwork?? LOL wth
first a question: Wich powermoves do you got down? see it depends of your power if your statement is legitamete,
how many months did it take you to flare (your average powermove)?? how many minutes did it take you to learn 3 step, both take time to clean up but there is no question about wich is harder to do and to learn
now making your own sets with footwork takes also lots off practice and beeing original is hard
but the same goes for powermoves and i think beeing original in your power takes a lot more effort then beeing
original in your footwork!
in conclusion yes powermoves on a level that u can be creative with it is indeed harder then footwork
is it more beutifull?? well that really depends on the BBOY <--

both foot work and power is hard... but to every bboy who has been in the game for 10 years and more they will all say footwork is just as hard... making a unique style is hard as shit though... dancing with a good top rock then with a good drop into a good footwork and then what ever lets say some power into a freeze WITH STYLE is alot harder then just
no top rocking not caring about the music and doing a flare to air flare then standing up and walking away.... YES those move are hard to learn but when it comes to training like when i train i train on MANY THINGS... not 1 move OVER AND OVER AND OVER ...
for exmaple i train im my control and how i can always make sure my freeze faces my opponent no matter what move do... train on being able to use all the floor instead o staying still... dancing on beat ... training my mind to constantly to throw MOVES after MOVES with out crashing while being clean STILL ON BEAT... and making it look good... dancing and being on beat... i can keep going really... but i wont
i trained with power heads so i know what im talking about

Let us consider that u don't break at all and u don't know a shit about bboying. You agry that powermove seems much more DYNAMIC and awesome than toprocking. People don't know what is about so when they see something more explosiv and more acrobatic it's amazing.
But personaly i really think that powermove is harder to learn than top rocking. Actually IN MY OWN OPNION everybody can toprock but not everybody can flare and airflare.
very true bboykaci, am still struggling wit powermoves and by now it takes me half an hour max to think of a new set (yeah I do sets) or to get a footwork piece right (3step, eight ball, cc exct.)
some say the hardest powermove is flare..I think its true because you have to think of allot of things at the same time, hips, arms, swinging, placement of the leggs, starting low then getting youre ass up of the floor haha.. wich footwork manouver would take half a year to practice ??
footwork moves are maybe a little less hard to practice than power, but making it clean and being original with footwork... THATS the hardest part for me ^^

actually there is many ppl who can not top rock to save their life.... some one who comes in and does the same top rock move over and over doesnt really mean they can top rock good... thats like doing the six step over and over and saying hes nasty on footwork....
