Posting Rules - Everyone read before posting on the boards!

Since the mods and admins on this board are sick and tired of cleaning up after the same mistakes over and over, It had come to my mind that we might need some general posting rules which could guide new members to a successful stay on these boards, and avoid unnecessary trouble.

Read the rules below carefully before posting:







Rule #1 - No "first" "second" bullshit


When writing a comment regarding a clip in the footage sections, do not post comments similar to this:





Other people don't give a damn, and it's really annoying for the people who appears in the clip and maybe

expects a comment with constructive criticism.

Simply put: if you do it, we will ban you permanently without warning. THIS announcement is your warning.







Rule #2 - Use the Search function


If you want to post a new thread about a specific topic, search for it first. It is very likely that the videoclip of yours, or the song you requested HAS already been answered or posted several times. Instead of bothering people with the same topics over and over, just use 2 minutes of your time searching for it first.










Type in a few words that you think an already existing topic would contain, and look through the search results for your answer. If none exists with a similar topic, you can go ahead posting your thread.

If you don't use the search function before posting a new thread and one of the mods recall a similar thread, and can find it easily with the search function your thread will be deleted without warning! In some cases, we might want to send you a warning through PM.







Rule #3 - Post in the right section


Make sure to post your thread in the right section! Read the description of each forum here www.bboyworld.com/forum, and post your thread in the section that fits your topic best.

If you post in the wrong section, we will either move your thread or delete it without warning.







Rule #4 - Don't spam the forums


We do not tolerate spamming of the forum. Make sure that your post somehow contribute to the discussion/topic, and if you do not really have anything relevant to say, then do not post it.

Here are some examples of spam that are easily distinguishable:





The funny thing is, that all of the above spam-examples origins from the same user. But hey, we are not going to let this individual be exposed to public contempt. I'm sure he got his deserved punishment

Pay attention to the "last post by" column. Talks for itself.


If you spam the forum with useless posts, we will ban you. Of course it depends of which extent you spam. We may also give you a warning first.

Remember that a high post count doesn't make you a better forum member, but the content and quality of your posts that does.








Rule #5 - No "fantasy-battles"


Please do not start a "fictional battle" (or fantasy battle) thread in the Breaking Discussion section (or in any other section for that matter).





It only results in hating, internet fights and pointless discussion.

However, it is allowed to discuss a battle that has already happened or is going to happen in the near future / is already arranged.

If a fantasy battle thread is created it will be deleted without notice and the author will get a warning by

PM.








Rule #6 - No inappropriate material


Do not post pictures/videofiles/links with inappropriate material on the boards. Remember that also kids and people of younger age visit the forum too, and as a bboy-forum we can not permit pornographic material and the like.

Any inappropriate material or links connected to things like it, will be deleted immediately, and the user risks an indefinite ban.








Rule #7 - Limit birthday threads


Birthday threads are not allowed, however there are some exceptions. Read below:

Today we count almost 40,000 members on the bboyworld forum. We assume that every one of these have a birthday once a year. That makes around 110 birtdays each day on average. If every member had to congratulate themselves on their birtday, the boards would be flooded with these. Therefore, only birtday threads dedicated to another person is allowed. If you want to be gratulated, you cannot create one for yourself, you need to hope that someone will do it for you. If no one does, then no one cares.

Allowed Birtday threads will only exist on the actual birthday, and will be deleted the next.








Rule #8 - Use the Private Message function


If you need to contact a specific user, make use of the PM-function (Private Messages) instead of creating a new thread on the boards which is addressed to a single person. Doing this will only result in more work for the admins, and a more messy forum.

Threads that are adressed to a specific user about personal matters, etc, will be deleted without warning. Take use of the PM funtion instead.

Bboyworld is a public forum for everyone to come and debate, chat or share opinions and experiences. It is not possible for everyone to communicate with each other if everyone just speaks their own language. In order to make everything intelligible for everyone, regardless of your position on the globe, we encourage everyone to exclusively use English on the boards as this is considered the international language.

If you speak your own language we may consider using our privilegies to ban your sorry ass

Keep that in mind in the future.




Rule #10 – No religion/religious threads


Quite a few people on the board finds religion-threads very interesting, and sure a select few of the bboyworld members in here did a good job researching stuff and are able to bring a very deep discussion to the table, but the majority of the members are too immature to discuss topics like religion. Religion is also a very sore spot for many, and people tend to get offended by ignorant remarks, provoking them to reply with undesirable comments that will more or less ruin the discussion.

We've decided that discussions about religion and stuff of that kind belongs to a place where everyone can contribute with something constructive and enlightening. And bboyworld is not the place.

If you start a religion thread you will either get a warning, get a temporary ban or the thread will be

deleted.



Rule #11 - No Advertising/Selling On The Boards


Threads and posts that advertises to products or any other materials will get deleted and the author will get warned.
Any other attempts to advertise/sell products will result in the ban of the author.



Rule #12 - Uploaded Footage

Footage cant be uploaded on bboyworlds server unless advertised! (Please dont ask us to host a clip)

Bboyworld only allow the following video sites to be embedded on bboyworld:

1) youtube
2) Google video
3) Bboy tube
4) Vimeo
5)dailymotion

All other video upload sites are mostlikly Harmful (spam bots, Spy ware, male ware etc)
Videos uploaded with other then the above recommended sites, can and may be deleted instant without notification to the publisher.





Rule #13 - Respect the Staff





Respect the admins and moderators. Regardless if it's Erwin or Rotady, or just a single-section moderator, you need to to obey their instructions and respect their words. If you feel gratuitous offended or insulted by a moderator/admin, send a PM to Rotady or Erwin and pour out your troubles.

After all, we are not here to be boogeymen and make your life miserable, but we are here to keep things clean, take care of the forum and help people out if they need it. Instead of looking upon us as cruel dictators, then consider us as a service that can guide you, and offer you what Bboyworld has to offer.

After all, we are not that bad...
and definately not if you follow these simple rules
