The first time i saw ryuichi was end of 2008, i was mad impressed.. At this event I could definitly tell he got more into moves then before. I don't know anybody's stuff by heart, so I could only tell he has a similar vocabulary of moves as Thesis, but since it's only technical stuff it's hard to say he's biting or not.
Thesis is more then airchairs and roll up, its his whole persona that's on another level.
People tend to forget theres more that happens before that actual battle, one of the reasons it was easy for Morris to win this one, was because Ryuichi used most of the stuff in his first round for the 2nd time that night.
But Ryuichi is dope we'll hear more from him.
and people talking about Morris doing 'old' moves go win Uk Champs, get 2nd place at BOTY and semifinal at BC-1 in 1 year.....
Of course people seen his stuff, he's been everywhere.
doing what ryuichi does is not something u can achieve overnight, it takes years. He would have had to start years before thesis was as popular as he is now. Thesis found his style his way, its entirely possible that ryuichi with a similar body and strength and influences can develop his own.
flow doesnt develop overnight and doesnt develop from biting.
Im sorry, but why do people assume he's been been watching thesis videos and never took it into consideration that it could be straight up coincidence? Cats don't know the dude personal and are so quick to call him a bitter. This dude Ryuichi is sick and for all we know he could have had those moves way before Thesis. Honestly I dont see what the big deal is and why ANYONE would care. I mean really CARE about it. I mean think about it, really think about who would actually care besides Thesis himself, cuz they are his moves and not anyone else's right?
Same goes for Morris with people complaining about him doing the same moves for years. If you can actually predict what he's about to do next, maybe you personally should give your eyes a rest from youtube and start practicing. And so what if he's been doing the "SAME" moves for years, cuz he's been roasting cats with those "SAME" for years.
Morris is sick
Ryuichi is sick
Leave it that, it was a dope battle. You cant expect every single bboy or bgirl to be completely original, so just love this dance for what it is.
Ryuichi is SIMILAR to Thesis...but he still isn't Thesis...
Don't just say Ryuichi bites Thesis cause it will take years of practice to get to where he is now...
And Ryuichi isn't biting Thesis...Maybe Thesis influence Ryuichi to have a unique style thats similar...
Is there anything wrong with that?? If there is, then how come you guys don't give shit to bboys/bgirls that have been influence by Born, Hong10, Lilou, etc.
There's countless # of bboys/bgirls who look up to other bboys/bgirls...and influences and inspiration...
For the battle Ryuichi was nasty, but did to many airchairs and repeated a few times...
I'd give it to Morris even though I've seen him do his things many times...its not old, because its entertaining and fun to watch how Morris expresses his way of the dance...
if that japanese dude made any money from this match, Thesis should get 75% of the check. Anyone defending that dude's massive biting is a straight up idiot.
whatever. that's some bullshit imo...no one said he was exactly like thesis. just that he bit some moves off of him. yea we all have influences but this was obvious. I don't even care personally. its just annoying that when you point out a clear bite the only answer is "we are all influenced" "no one is original" "we are all biters"...that's biter talk. people who criticize pointing out a bite accuse others of acting all high and mighty, while they are doing the exact same thing and 9 times out of 10 in a more disrespectful way.
I think Ryuichi was dope in his own right...like someone else said I'm sure he will develop into a crazy bboy.
but I'll just point out one thing. the way he did the kip up elbow thing. I have never seen anyone else do that (in that distinct way) besides thesis. that is a fact, not a matter of opinion.
