Russia and Ukraine are on fire incredible level !! I was surprised by some decisions but it must be hard to judge that kind of event. Basically you would love that all the bboys win...they are all dope !!!

Exact same feeling, Uzee vs Gypsy was like Quantity vs Quality, anyway congrats to Uzee for the whole event

With the level so high in all these battles, that's what I find intriguing about our dance. So many different styles, but it's anyone's game. Just depends on who's on that day, and who the judges are feeling.
I'm haven't gotten around to watching all the battles, but of the ones I have, they've all been entertaining. I like the dancing I see.

Malice, as you've said, there were a number of battles, where the decision could go otherways.
I see, that judges have kept picking Uzee, because he goes much more along with foundations and tends to dance "pure" footwork-based- bboying with some adding of his own original moves INTO the footwork.
Cheerito otherwise has his own way of dancing and footwork, which as you can see is rather nonconformist and includes almost no standart-footwork moves.
One can say Cheerito has mostly short combos, which he can adapt to the music and just short "footwork-alike" bridges between them. And Uzee looks like freestyling more, - he has only a pair of combos and does mostly particular moves, which he repeats 3-4 times with longer footwork-bridges between them.
So it is always up to the judges (кто судил вообще? Тони Рок там, нет?), what they preferred more.
All around the world, when such battles (with evolve/Abstract/original whatever-you-call bboys) are held, the winner is almost always the most foundation-based bboy.
as for me personally i'd give the win to Funt already vs Uzee.

wow, some of those rounds were SOO long. it was almost like watching popping. I wonder if this is what will start happening to bboying generally, longer rounds to get in more moves to win the compos. kind of the opposite of cypher battles. not disrespecting, just an observation.
by the way does anyone know who was djing, some of those tunes were sick and I don't recognise all of them?

I had the same thought: "wow that was almost as long as a popping round" but I could tell he was waiting for certain bars to drop so he could kill the melodies...
I don't think bboying will go down the route of longer rounds, it takes crazy stamina and it's super hard to keep peoples interest - I didn't get bored of uzee though he was out to kill.
I showed my housemate gipsy vs uzee and he didn't like it at all, whereas I thought it was amazing. Just goes to show how much opinions can differ.

The judges were: Tony Rock, Niek (Just Do It) and Yan the Shrimp.
but ok - if you keep saying that "foundation" always wins - what about Daniel vs Stop the Panic !???

The DJ was DJ SCREAM (SOUTH DJS) from Yalta, Ukraine. He is one of the best dj's here and also the organiser of Yalta Summer Jam - if you don't know what is it - see another topic here - "Yalta Summer Jam Diary" next to this topic!
peace
