dsd1 were in flex flav though, and a couple members of quest are flex flav. i saw a video on here of flexflav doing it against france (i think) recently.
honestly? I don't think you owe anyone anything for using that idea. I can guarantee you that even if project seoul was the first to use it in bboying, that illusion itself (the idea of wearing pants/shoes on your arms, and shirt/hands on your feet) was thought up before 2002. So technically is Project Seoul biting? No, they were just being creative, like you guys. It's plain that moves/ideas will get recycled, not just in bboying, but in EVERYTHING. it will only get increasingly difficult, if not impossible, to stay 100% original as time progresses. i mean, it's great if you strive to do that, but don't beat yourself up too much if you find out you didn't.
pz and good luck.
Exactly. Or do you really think project soul were first in human history to come up with this idea?
I've seen the clip before and I do enjoy watching it but I don't completely agree with it. I think it is clear where bboying got its roots and shows how it has evolved but to say it is because everyone bites is a bit too strong. There is a difference in biting and refining. To say there isn't is ridiculous but people will argue it to the end.
I choose to believe that there is a difference and that there are various degrees. So unless you take something and enhance it you are indeed biting. Also the ending stating that imitation is the highest form of flattery only works if the person before gets the respect and benefits. Just my thoughts.
I'd like to just say this: There isn't SHIT that anyone can come up with that hasn't been done before.
Half of the "signature moves" created by bboys have been done by shaolin monks, capoeira masters, swing/jive/charleston dancers, lockers, poppers, african dancers, yoga masters, or any other martial arts, gymnastics or dance. It's all from somewhere else and no matter what you do, if you think you're original, you aren't. I guarentee someone else is in their basement with their boys creating a move that you thought would kill everyone in whatever competition that you want to enter. It's been done before and the best you can do is use something that ur audience hasn't seen before. That's all you can do because thinking that you can make a completely original "move" is ridiculous. You can make original choreography or sets, but moves or ideas are going to be "bitten" until they're no longer humanly possible. If it's possible for you to do it, someone else can do it too and they may even do it better.
has n.e 1 mention the part where Quest Crew pushed one of their member during the backflip?

the attempt to be different is honorable, and the courage to stand up and speak for not only yourself, but also your friends to a whole bunch of people simply to say sorry for a mistake is just as much more honorable. besides, just as many have already said, bboys or bgirls alike will always use similar ideas or methods to do a good performance. i mean, seriously just from the uprock moves and everything else in the bboy world is repeated by everybody that gets into it, so if quest is guilty of biting, well we're all just as guilty of biting all the bboy moves we individually do.
