good video it helps but this is basically what jackie chan did in drunken master and most aint gonna be doing that on a hard floor and also that doesnt help with flares cause your basically just doing push ups on the bone of the wrists it will give some form of conditioning but its the outer wrists that need to be worked as you need to achieve maximum strength and extension if you want to make your flares, airflares flow easier.
peace

The theory behind this exercise is that if you are always strengthening flexion in your hands (the position they are in for freezes, flares, pretty much everything on your hands in breaking) you need to strengthen the extensor muscles on the opposite side of your hand to promote stability.

so yes it doesnt look like it DIRECTLY helps anything but since it balances out your hands it will protect your wrist joints in the long run.

Would doing various types of push ups be the method to strengthening the other side of the wrist? My right wrist has been hurt for awhile now, and slowly getting better, but its sensitive to pressure. Doesnt feel like any thing is broken, just pulled a tendon or sumthing I think.

Was doing Cricket and windmill training. Someone help me out!

Supposedly gymnastic rings gives you the fastest path to upper body strength simply because of the constant quivering and max tension required to do those exercises. It made me think that you can just use a stability/exercise ball to mimic similar exercises.

Let me give an example.. you can do pushups using rings or a stability ball. Doing pushups on a stability ball makes it hell of a lot tougher since you have to maintain your core rigidity as well as find that balance point as you lower yourself and push back up. You can increase the difficulty by putting your feet up higher as you progressively get stronger.

If anybody's had experience please share...

if it hurts to put pressure because of a recent injury, my physiotherapist gave me stretch-band exercises specific for my wrist injury/s

you would have to go to one to get exercises specific for your injury

yeah i agree it is the fastest way to gain general upper body strength but not everyone can get access to them regularly

either buying them or maybe making your own could work but i got no where to put em in my apt lol

as for stability balls, they're ok i like to use wobble boards instead (try simply holding a turtle or a handglide on it)

I would have to say one of the most underrated parts of breaking is strengthening the wrists. I wish I had made mine stronger before I started and throughout my training. Right now both my wrists are hurt with tendons moving around and at times so painful I can't move the wrist. So I massage it and persuade the tendon back into place. I blame myself for being lazy and not realizing how important strengthening and stretching them was.

I use this resistance tool called the Marcy Wedge and its a wrist machine with a wire which you do wrist curls with. I love it because super low impact and the highest setting is strong enough for me to get a good workout with. check out this link: Wrist Training & Grip Training | Wrist Exercises Blog
