Yea my joints/bones are pretty messed up. I take glucosamine/chondroitin supplements, calcium/magnesium, and an herbal joint supplement called Zyflamend. Started stretching a lot more and that seems to be helping with the pain too.

I used to take glucosamine but I would get weird reactions from it. (Rash, etc) Personally, I do not like taking anything that is man-made when it comes to pills. I think twice before taking an Advil but that's just me. The best thing you can do is stretch, warm up before you dance - even though many people don't! If you don't want to look stupid at a jam stretching, do it at home before the jam. Warm up before you stretch.

One of the MOST important parts of ANY training is REST.

A problem I am having right now is muscle strains on my left leg. I can't run because my knees will start hurting after a few miles so I rather go cycling.

I've never heard of anyone getting a rash from glucosamine. It's made from glucose and an amino acid called glutamine. Nothing really man-made there and unless you eat only organic produce most of the things you buy from a supermarket are going to be tampered with by people.

I agree taking Advil or any kind of otc painkiller for an extended amount of time will damage your liver.
